Jackie was born in Wilmington, Delaware. She spent her summers in Ocean City, Maryland or at her grandparents lake cabin in Connecticut. Being on the water so much, she took to swimming at an early age and swam competitively. That is also where her dad taught her to fish. Her mom taught her to ice skate and she made it all the way through beginner’s ice dancing. Having always been interested in health and science, she went to the University of Delaware to major in nursing. After finishing her first year though, she had a few conversations with her favorite childhood Dental Hygienist, switched careers and graduated as a Registered Dental Hygienist in 1985.
In January 1995, she came to Arizona to visit and immediately fell in love with the desert and what it had to offer. So in July, she and two of her friends convoyed across the U.S. to move to Arizona. She worked for a private practice dentist for 24 years. She helped grow the practice by providing exceptional care, educating patients on how to improve their oral health and create many long lasting friendships. After the doctor retired, she wanted to be a part of another growing practice. After a short conversation with Dr. Stroh, she knew this was the right fit.
When she is not working, Jackie is an outdoor enthusiast with hiking being a favorite. She has hiked the Grand Canyon twice, made it to the top of Mt. Humphrey’s and Kendrik Peak in Flagstaff, and countless hikes in Sedona. She has also done some road biking, plays a little golf, and has even traveled to Alaska to fly fish. Weekends might be spent touring the state, doing a staycation at one of the fabulous resorts or discovering a new venue for live music. Volunteering is also been very important and she has participated in dog rescue, Big Brothers, Big Sisters and volunteered at St. Vincent de Paul in various capacities.
